Great video!  Love the message around the need to rethink our school system to meet students where they are at!

Do The Work

In the past months I've kind of falling off the face of the blogging world.  I've been reading and reflecting but the blog posts just have not been there.  When I moved and renamed this blog I thought that I was dedicated to his purpose but somewhere shortly after Christmas I started to see success in moving towards that purpose.  Oddly enough, that made me stop in my tracks on so many levels - and I stepped back from a lot of things including this blog.

I know that this is part of a change process but I continue to struggle with getting over this hurdle.  Today I came across the blog entry Do The Work Review on One Foot in Reality and gained a bit more clarity on my stepping back as being resistance.  The quote that is oultine in this review (because I haven't read the book yet just the the reveiw on this blog) that hit home the most with me was "Research can be fun. It can be seductive. That's its danger. We need it, we love it. But we must never forget that research can become Resistance." (line 356).

I've been reading and researching and doing personal reflective writing about all of it but that is all I've been doing.  It's time to do more.  It's time to better.  It's time to do the work.  Stay tuned for some new blog posts about the direction we are heading in next year and what is being done to prepare for it.  There are some exciting (and challenging) times ahead :).
